Glanmire, Cork Best friends since their early teens, Aoife McGrath and Donna Kelleher have both been hairdressing for more than 13 years, even working in Sydney when they moved to Australia for four years. Having opened their own salon in Cork upon their return, the time had come for a little refresh, to create a timeless, luxurious, and chic space for clients to unwind and be pampered while also maximising the space they had. It also needed to offer a calm work environment for the team to empower those one-on-one services with as much privacy for clients as possible. Cue the guidance from Xpert Professional’s Richard Barry on interior ideas and furniture choices. They include Joy LED styling units, Henri styling chairs and electronic leg rests are by Pahi Barcelona, with wash units by Breton alongside custom retail displays.

“Our favourite part of our new salon is the gorgeous ‘zen zone’ which we have created at our basin area,” explain the duo. “We listened to our clients, and this was their favourite part of the experience. There’s so much privacy at our basin now. Alongside aromatherapy diffusers, we try to keep our basin area as quiet as possible so our clients can unwind and relax.”
