KITCH, LONDON
@kitchhair
The gang at Kitch in London’s Angel district has been busy with a capital B. Turn to page 64 and you’ll see founders Luca Jones and Scott Humphreys’ first Kitch photographic collection, and the team is still basking in the glow of their Most Wanted Best Client Experience win. But back at the salon, they’ve expanded their 1950s pastel perfection kitchen vibe upstairs. “It was all about practical updates – keeping the aesthetic but improving the functionality,” says the duo.
Now, the backwashes are adjacent to the colour area for ease when toning, for example. That fresh basin area has been created with a new boiler housed in a pastel pink (obviously) cupboard. This means better water pressure when rinsing, as the previous electric shower heads were inconsistent. There’s a fresh lick of paint and new benches, with some clever storage underneath. “Being able to use the backwash area properly is worth a billion dollars!” they grin. And looking at the final result, you can’t help but grin too.
